Perfect Porridge

Ingredients
  • 80g chunky porridge oats
  • 375 ml water
Steps
  1. Add oats and water to the pot.  Stir to ensure the oats are covered.
  2. Cook on manual for 10 mins, then allow to natural pressure release (NPR) for 12 mins.
  3. Release the remaining steam by doing a Quick pressure release (QPR).  When you open the pot, the porridge won't look great, but giving it a quick stir brings it together perfectly.
  4. NB: Don't cook porridge with milk as it will stick to the pot.  If you like a creamier porridge, add a bit of cream after cooking.
  5. Add golden syrup, sugar, or any other garnishes after cooking.
  6. This recipe makes one large bowlful.  For more, double the quantities.  You shouldn't need to add any extra time, but experiment and if need be try adding an extra couple of minutes.
