Figgy Pudding
Old recipe passed down through the Jones / Williams Family
to Grandma Evelyn (Jones) Roberts
Ingredients
  • 1 cup chopped beef suet
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Flour to make batter stiff enough to pour from spoon like pancake batter
  • 1cup raisins
Steps
  1. Combine beaten eggs, milk & salt in bowl;
  2. add suet & raisins. (I also add 1 tsp nutmeg - My own addition. ).
  3. Pour mixture into white cloth - tie closed with string-
  4. boil in pan of hot water 4 to 5 hrs using old saucer under pudding in pan to prevent sticking.
  5. Serve with turkey, Capon or any roast.
