Quick and Easy Masoor Daal/Red Lentils
Ingredients
  • ¼ cup earth balance butter
  • ½ to 1 thinly sliced onion
  • 3 to 4 garlic cloves crushed and minced
  • 2 ½ cups dry red lentils/masoor daal
  • 2 tsp Better than Bouillon chicken flavour (or two cubes of other, use vegetable if you’re cooking vegan)
  • 6 cups hot water
  • subheading: Spices:
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 black cardamom
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp red chili powder (more or less for desired heat)
