Red Velvet Cake - Paula Deen

Ingredients

  • 1 (1-ounce) bottle red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • subheading: For the cream cheese frosting:
  • ½ cup margarine
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
  • 1 box confectioners' sugar, sifted
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped lightly toasted pecans
