Frozen Cornish game hens in instant pot

Ingredients
  • 2 cups water
  • 1.5 tsp Better than Bullion
  • -- or just use 2 cups broth
  • ½ cup diced celery (optional)
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • 2 bay leaves (optional)
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp pepper
Steps
  1. Put ingredients in the bottom of the pot.
  2. Put in the trivet.
  3. Rub frozen birds with melted butter.
  4. subheading: Sprinkle lightly with:
  5. Salt
  6. Pepper
  7. Garlic powder
  8. Poultry seasoning
  9. Put birds on trivet (4 hens had to be placed standing, tail down)
  10. Close lid, seal vent
  11. Cook on manual for 25 minutes.
  12. NPR for 15 minutes.
  13. Optional:  Broil cooked birds for a few minutes to brown the skin a bit. (I didn’t bother.)
