Aunt Olive’s Chocolate Cookies

Aunt Olive was Grandpa Claude Roberts sister.
Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup shortening
- 1 egg
- ½ salt
- ½ cup milk
- 2 tsp vanilla
- ½ tsp soda
- 1 ½ cups flour
- 2 ounces baking chocolate ( melted)
Steps
- Cream sugar & shortening -
- add egg & melted chocolate -
- combine dry ingredients & add to chocolate mixture alternately with milk.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet - Bake at 350*.
- Frost when cool.
Notes
- Note from Aunt Linda: I substitute Hershey Cocoa & shortening for the baking chocolate.
