Ingredients

  • this is a very good popover recipe, I found this recipe in the newspaper and it was one of Dad's favorites always turned out well
  •  
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 6 tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 cups flour
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  •  
  • 1. break eggs,
  •  
  • 2. beat eggs with mixer until frothy
  •  
  • 3. slowly beat in flour and salt
  •  
  • 4. batter should be light, but not foamy
  •  
  • 5. preheat oven
  •  
  • 6. grease oven proof coffee mugs or muffin tins
  •  
  • 7. BAKE 1 HOUR FOR 6 INCH CUPS AND 4OZ CONTAINERS FOR 45 MINUTES
  •  
  • 8. bake until very dark brown and well done
  •  
  • 9. when done make two small slits in tops and bake another five minutes
  •  
  • 10. release edges from side of mug or muffin tin with knife
  •  
  • 11. makes 8 very large popover's or ten ordinary popovers
  •  
  • Yield: 8 very large popovers or or ten small popovers
