French-Style Country Bread

  • ¾ teaspoon active dry or ½ teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 ¾ to 4 (15.75 to 17 ounces) cups King Arthur Unbleached Bread Flour or Organic Bread Flour
  • 1 ½ to 2 ¼ teaspoons salt, to taste
