Steven and Mandy's Shrimp and Grits
Ingredients
  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined, tails off), uncooked
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 2 large tomatoes, finely diced
  • 1 shallot, finely diced
  • 3 serrano peppers, finely diced (leave out if you don’t like spicy)
  • 2 Tbsp chopped basil
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely diced
  • 3 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 glugs sherry cooking wine (⅓ cup or so)
  • 1.25 to 1.5 cups chicken broth (or seafood broth)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 to 2 tsp Auntie Nono’s Seafood Seasoning
  • grits (quick cooking) - however much you’d like
