Flan cake
Layered cake and flan decadent dessert.
Ingredients
  • ½ cup sugar ( for caramelizing)
  • subheading: Flan Mixture:
  • 1 14oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 12oz can evaporated milk
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • pinch salt
  •  
  • 1 box cake mix (any flavor desired)
Steps
  1. Melt ½ cup sugar over medium heat stirring constantly until dissolved and caramel color. (Don't over cook and burn)
  2. Pour into bottom of metal mixing bowl and let set to harden.
  3. Mix cake according to directions and pour into caramelized bowl
  4. Whisk together flan ingredients and slowly pour flan mixture into the center of the cake batter allowing it to sink down below the cake batter.
  5. Cover tightly with foil
  6. Bake in water bath for 1 hr and 40 minutes to 1 hr and 50 min. or until knife inserted come out clean.
  7. Cool and refrigerate until firm or overnight.
  8. Invert on plate to serve
