Layered cake and flan decadent dessert.
Ingredients
- ½ cup sugar ( for caramelizing)
- subheading: Flan Mixture:
- 1 14oz can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 12oz can evaporated milk
- 6 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- pinch salt
- 1 box cake mix (any flavor desired)
Steps
- Melt ½ cup sugar over medium heat stirring constantly until dissolved and caramel color. (Don't over cook and burn)
- Pour into bottom of metal mixing bowl and let set to harden.
- Mix cake according to directions and pour into caramelized bowl
- Whisk together flan ingredients and slowly pour flan mixture into the center of the cake batter allowing it to sink down below the cake batter.
- Cover tightly with foil
- Bake in water bath for 1 hr and 40 minutes to 1 hr and 50 min. or until knife inserted come out clean.
- Cool and refrigerate until firm or overnight.
- Invert on plate to serve
