  • 1 fresh rosemary sprig
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh basil
  • fresh black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups fresh baby spinach
  • ¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese, plus extra optional for garnish
