Ham and Bean Soup
Ingredients
  • 1 lb. Great Northern beans
  • 12 cups water
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • Cubed ham
Steps
  1. Wash and sort beans using heavy kettle with a capacity of at least 3 times the amount of water and beans.
  2. Add salt and allow to stand one hour. Add heat and cubed ham and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for approximately 1 1-½ hours or until tender.
