  • 1 tablespoon  granulated sugar
  • ½ pound  (2 sticks) cold unsalted butter, cubed into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup  cold water
  • 1 cup  ice
  • ¼ cup  cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon  salt
