Chinese-Style Canned Green Beans
This is one of the best green bean recipes ever.  Everybody who has tried it, loves it.
Ingredients
  • 1 (14.5oz) can of green beans
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • ½ tsp Kosher salt
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
Steps
  1. Mix water, honey, and soy sauce in a bowl and set aside.
  2. Melt the butter and mix with the olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat.
  3. Open and drain the can of green beans then pour into the melted butter and oil, along with ½ tsp Kosher salt. Toss carefully so that all the beans are coated.
  4. Continue to cook the green beans, tossing every few minutes, until they start to turn brown (about 15 to 20 minutes).
  5. Reduce heat to low and add the minced garlic. Stir for about 20 seconds - you want to smell the garlic.
  6. Pour the water-honey-soy sauce mixture into the pan and continue to stir until the mix becomes a glaze, about 30 to 45 seconds.
  7. Serve in a shallow dish.
