Sweet and Sour Wings
In dark flavorful sauce. These are among the first appetizers to disappear.

Ingredients
  • 3lbs (1.4kg) Whole chicken wings or drumettes
  • 1 cup (250mL) Brown sugar, packed
  • ¼ cup (60mL) All-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (125mL) water
  • ¼ cup (60mL) White vinegar
  • 1 ½ tbsp (25mL) Ketchup
  • ¼ (60mL) cup soy sauce
  • ¼ tsp (1mL) garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp (15mL) onion flakes
  • ½ tsp (2mL) salt
  • ½tsp (2mL) prepared mustard
Steps
  1. Discard tip and cut wings apart at joint. Place wings in 5 quart (5L) slow cooker.
  2. Mix brown sugar and flour well in saucepan. Add water, vinegar and ketcup. Stir.
  3. Add remaining 5 ingredients.
  4. Head and stir until boiling and thickened. Pour over wings. Cover.
  5. Cook on LOW for 8 to 9 hours, or on HIGH for 4 to 4½ hours until tender.
  6. Serve from slow cooker or remove to platter.
