I Added a Few Tablespoons of Corn Starch and 1/2C Less Sugar to Increase Tartness. and Some Vanilla Beans. I Own a Home Based Bakery and Sold 45 Orders of These in Two Days. Love This Recipe
Ingredients
- subheading: For crust:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup butter
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste or extract
- subheading: For Filling:
- 6 to 8 eggs
- 5 to 7 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 4 tablespoons flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste
- 6 tablespoons of corn starch
Steps
- To make crust: Cream butter and sugar and press into ungreased 9 x 12 pan. Bake 15 minutes at °350F
- To make bars: Beat eggs and add lemon juice and rest of ingredients. Pour on baked crust. Bake 45 to 55 minutes at °300. Sprinkle with powdered sugar while still warm.
