Ingredients
- subheading: Ingredients:
- 256g All purpose flour
- 100g unsweetened cocoa
- 200g granulated white sugar
- 67g granulated brown sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3tsp baking powder
- 2tsp vanilla
- ½tsp salt
- ½cup/118ml oil
- Powdered sugar for coating
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine sifted flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
- In another mixing bowl, combine sifted cocoa, sugar, oil, vanilla, and eggs. Mix until well combined.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients.
- Cover bowl in cling wrap then refrigerate for 3 to 4 hrs or until firm and manageable to roll.
- Scoop the dough into 1 tbsp size balls and roll onto powdered sugar.
- Bake 175°C for 10 to 12 mins ONLY
Notes
- make sure balls are chilled before putting it into the oven for a nice crackly top. You can put in the fridge for a couple of mins to chill before baking
- you can adjust the amount of white sugar according to your sweetness preference but I suggest you keep it at 1 cup so the texture won't change; less white sugar, flatter crinkles
- you can't use just 1 type of sugar, it should be white and brown.
- Crinkles are ultra soft right after it comes out of the oven... Let it cool down and don't panic (like i did the 1st time I made these lol)
- if the Powdered sugar isn't sticking, roll it onto granulated sugar first then on powdered sugar.
