Crock Pot Shepherd's Pie

I am a Christ loving Grandma who has been following a low carb lifestyle for many years. I am a type II diabetic and a major foodie, which sometimes can be polar opposites! I collect many recipes that are not low carb, so that I can take a stab at recreating the recipe suitable for my dietary needs. I also make sweets for alot of my family members & friends. So I have lots of recipes from all kinds of different dietary profiles in order to influence and supplement my "foodie" tendencies.

Shepherd’s pie just got a lot easier in the Crock Pot. The recipe is loaded with hearty ground beef, plenty of veggies, and creamy mashed potatoes.

2 pounds ground beef or ground lamb for traditional shepherd’s pie

1 cup frozen mixed vegetables

24 ounce container pasta sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 cups instant or pre-cooked mashed potatoes prepared according to package instructions

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and black pepper to taste

1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese optional
