Sourdough Starter Gluten Free
Ingredients
  • A glass jar or bowl (I use a quart mason jar)
  • A tea towel or coffee filter. I find it convenient to use k-cup filters as they fit my mason jars perfectly!
  • Brown rice flour: I like Bob’s Red Mill and Anthony’s
  • Filtered water. I use a zero water filter.
  • A kitchen scale (optional, but recommended)
  • A wide mouth funnel (also optional, but makes the process less messy)
  • Spoon/spatula for mixing that will reach to the bottom of your jar/bowl
  •  
  • Your starter will grow best in a glass jar or bowl, as metal can irritate the wild yeast you are trying to cultivate. (Of course, it is always best to avoid plastics if possible).
