- 1 lb lean ground beef (I use ground bacon/beef which you can get at the meat market)
- ½ C diced sweet onion
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper freshly cracked
- ½ tsp dry thyme
- 1 T Worcestershire sauce
- 3 T tomato paste (or more if you want it a little more tomato flavor)
- 4 C beef broth OR 3 C beef broth + 1 C water
- 2 C shredded cheddar cheese or cheddar blend
- 16 oz elbow macaroni dry
