  • 4 teaspoons dark soy sauce (divided)
  • 1 ½ tablespoons granulated sugar (or preferably rock sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons shaoxing wine
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (mixed into a slurry with 1 tablespoon water)
