MY Green Bean and Pork Okazu
Japanese home-style meal

Ingredients
  • 1lb of fresh green beans (snap off ends, pull string, chop in half)
  • 1 thick cut pork chop (butterfly into two pieces and slice thin)
  • 2 to 3 Shiitake mushrooms reconstituted in 1 cup of water
  • 1 TBS of cooking oil
  • S&P to taste
Steps
  1. Remove Shiitake from water and squeeze out excess liquid back into reconstitute bowl (save water)
  2. Slice Shiitake into thin strips (cut away and throw out hard center stem)
  3. Heat pan over med/high heat and add cooking oil
  4. Flash fry green beans until partially cooked (with some char) ~ 2 to 3 min
  5. Remove from pan and set aside
  6. Add pork to hot pan and cook ¾ of the way through (until pink is mostly gone)
  7. Add green beans, sliced Shiitake, and the 1 cup of water used to reconstitute mushrooms back into the pan
  8. Use S&P to taste. Cook until finished ~ 2 to 3 min
