Classic Jambalaya Recipe
Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 lb andouille sausage (sliced into rounds)
  • 3 bell peppers (diced)
  • 2 celery stalks (diced)
  • 2 jalapenos (seeded and minced)
  • 1 white onion (diced)
  • 6 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 15oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cups chicken stock
  • 1 cup uncooked long grain white rice
  • 2 ½ tbsp cajun seasoning
  • 1 ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 lb raw large shrimp
  • 1 ½ cup okra (sliced)
  • green onion (garnish)
  • salt (to taste)
  • pepper (to taste)
