Baked Tofu Slices
Ingredients
  • How to cook tofu oil-free my way
  •  
  • subheading: Ingredients:
  • 1 Brick Super firm ORGANIC tofu
  •  
  • ½ to 1 cup tamari
  •  
  • Spices of choice
  •  
  • 1) Pre-heat the oven to 350°F
  •  
  • 2) Drain and rinse the tofu
  • a. If you want to press your tofu first that will help it from crumbling but is not needed
  •  
  • 3) Cut the tofu width side (see picture) into ¼ in slices
  •  
  • 4) Marinate the pieces of tofu in the tamari for 10 to 15minutes
  • a. The tofu does not have to be submerged in the tamari just simply rotate the pieces every few minutes

  • 5) Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  •  
  • 6) After the tofu has finished marinating place the slices on the tray
  •  
  • 7) Add your favorite dry spices to the top of each piece
  •  
  • 8) Bake the tofu for 30 minutes, make sure to check every 10 minutes to make sure they are not burning
  • a.This will dry out the liquid on the tofu but not the tofu itself

  • 9) After the tofu has finished cooking take out of the oven and let sit for at least 5 minutes
  • a.The tofu will slightly harden so and will not be as crumbly

  • I cannot stress enough to only use organic tofu.
  • You can add any flavors you like for a variety of dishes, for this time I made tofu I used sandwich spices (salt, garlic, black pepper, basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme, marjoram) I would recommend mixing these spices in a bowl and grinding with a pestle and mortar before adding to the tofu or buying a pre-made mix.
