Ingredients

  • ¼ cup plant-milk
  • 1 tablespoon real maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoon yeast
  • 1 tablespoon flaxmeal (optional)

  • 1 ½ cup wholemeal flour + more for oil-free rolling (of choice)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce
  • ½ ripe mashed banana (optional but adds more moisture to the recipe)
  • ½ teaspoon salt (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  •  
  • subheading: Filling:
  • 1 cup date paste
  • 2 teaspoons real maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 tablespoon all-spice
  • ¼ teaspoon chilli powder

  • subheading: Chocolate Frosting:
  • ½ cup date paste (dates + water for blending)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoon(s) cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon all-spice
  • 1 pinch chilli powder

  • subheading: Kumara Frosting:
  • ½ cup date paste (dates + plant-milk of choice for blending)
  • 2 to 3 cooked & peeled blended kumara
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon all-spice
  • 1 pinch chilli powder
