Spiked Strawberry Lemonade

Strawberry lemonade, spiked with vodka, is a refreshing drink to cool you down during those hot summer days.

1 cup sliced fresh strawberries

½ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

3 cups water, divided

2 tablespoons white sugar, or to taste (optional)

1 cup vodka, divided

ice, as needed
