Scottish Shortbread

Ingredients
  • ½ Cup butter
  • 6 Tablespoons sugar
  • 1½ cups all purpose (unbleached) flour
  • ⅛ Teaspoon salt
Steps
  1. Cream butter & sugar; gradually add flour & salt.
  2. Press into an 11” round cake pan.
  3. Prick the edges with a fork.
  4. Bake at 325° for 17 to 20 minutes until golden
  5. Cut into wedges
  6. Makes 1 dozen.
Notes
  • Make these sparkle by sprinkling with coarse , colored sugar while still warm
