Crispy Rice and Spicy Tuna Bites
Ingredients
  • subheading: SUSHI RICE:
  • 2 cups sushi rice (rinsed well)
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • subheading: SPICY TUNA:
  • 1 pound ahi tuna (finely chopped into small pieces)
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise (Kewpie mayo preferred)
  • 3 tablespoons sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • juice of ½ lime
  • ¼ cup green onions (thinly sliced)

  • subheading: Spicy mayo:
  • 1 Cup Kewpie Mayo: If you can’t find Japanese mayo, use regular mayo with a dash of mustard added to it!
  • ¼ to ⅓ Cup Sriracha: Add ¼ for a less spicy taste and ⅓ cup for a strong kick.
  • 1 ½ Teaspoon Lemon Juice: The acidity brightens the dish to help lighten the taste of the mayo. It is completely optional though. You can also swap it for lime juice.

  • vegetable oil (for frying)
  • soy sauce (for dipping)
  • avocado thinly sliced or mashed
  • spicy mayo to drizzle on top
  • toasted sesame seeds to garnish on top
